Baking Challenge

 This week in Maths, we have been learning how to make cookies and measure out the

ingredients.

I really enjoyed making the cookies because it was a fun thing to do.

Something that was a bit tricky was I found it hard to stir the bowl because the dough was sticking to the bowl. Next time I should add some more flour to the bowl so the dough would not stick to the bowl.

I am really looking forward to trying the cookies.

The holidays

In the holidays I went to the library. It was Matariki. I had to find stars and I had to tick them off. When I was done I had to get some books for my reading challenge. I went to lots of places.
I wrote the books down that I read on my holiday challenge. When we finished doing everything we got a Matariki word find and some other stuff. I enjoyed finding the Matariki stars and we got a map to find them.

Jean Batten

 Today we were learning about Jean Batten. We were focusing on finding out about her and finding pictures of her. She was one of the first women to fly an aeroplane long distances.

Next time I should focus on adding more detail.

Mother's Day Poem

This is my poem about my mum because Mother's Day is a about making good things for your mum.  We had to give lots of information about our mum in our poem. We had a Rimu class Mother's Day celebration. I decorated a cupcake with some sprinkles, edible glitter and purple frosting. I also made a cup of coffee for my mum. Mum liked it.

MAUI FISHED UP THE NORTH ISLAND

 I would probably reflect on some bits next time. 

Today we are learning about Maui. We were acting out the real story of Maui and his four brothers. The story we were learning about was how Maui fished up the North Island. We were pretending to be on the boat and we were pretending to go fishing.

I found acting the story out easy because we were doing the story together, and figuring out the story in our groups.

I found working in a group a little bit difficult because sometimes I was not sure what was going on. But the group helped me.

We had to tell the story to the teachers

 

My favourite group to watch was Cole's Group because this one was really good. 

I like how they acted it out really well.

Quick write

Today I was learning how to show not tell in my writing. I was writing a volcano story. I added some good

detail. I was really proud of my writing and I got the Principal's award from Mr Poole.
